You Myung-Ok

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to study the effect on metabolism of human body targeting 13 participants before and after training Arirang Taoist Dance. And the researcher compared and analyzed such as temperature, red blood cell and white blood cell through blood test and statistical analysis. In the test group, body weight was decreased by 0.21 kg on average, waist decreased by 0.21 cm on average, and body mass index (BMI) by 0.18% on average. They were all increased in the control group, however, without significance. Pulse was increased 6.25 beat per min and the temperature was increased 0.11oC on the average in the test group. Both systolic and diastolic blood pressures were decreased in the control group while systolic pressure being increased by 3.75 mm Hg and diastolic one by 3% in the test group, however, with no significance. Within the reference range, red blood cell was increased by 0.224¡¿106 cells/¥ì l and hemoglobin by 0.11 g/dl in the test group. They were both decreased in the control group, all with statistical significance. In the test group, the mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration value (MCHC) was increased to 0.18 g/dl while the mean corpuscular hemoglobin (MCH) being decreased to -0.62 pg and the mean corpuscular volume (MCV) to -0.85 fl, all without significance. In the test group, white blood cell was more decreased by 0.95¡¿103 cells/ml compared to the control group. Neutrophils were decreased in the test group by -0.25%, lymphocytes also by -0.25%, and monocytes decreased to 1.06% while platelets being increased by 12.33¡¿103 counts/¥ìl, however, all without significance. As an above result, training of Arirang Taoist Dance and singing affected metabolism of human body so highly. This result implies that Arirang Taoist Dance and sound training are as worthy of using as natural-curing tools for health. The researcher hopes that our traditional culture, especially Arirang will be developed continuously, and curing of traditional music will contribute the national health promotion and welfare improvement as one field of natural curing.
